The 28th General Meeting of XGP Forum

The 28th General Meeting of XGP Forum was held on October 19th at ARIB in Tokyo. We have 26 member corporations at current and 44 people from 15 entities attended the meeting. Mr. Maeda, the chairperson of XGP Forum, announced the opening and expressed our deep sorrow to the people that suffered from the unprecedented earthquake and prayed for the rapid revival. In the meanwhile, general activities during fiscal year 2001(July of 2010~June of 2011) were reviewed.

Firstly, Mr. Tawara, a special guest from Mobile Communication Department of MIC, declared that MIC expects highly on the development of XGP in spite of the severe situation of telecommunication field. He also promised steady support.

Secondly, Mr. Chika, Vice chairperson of XGP Forum and CTO of  Wireless City Planning to offer Advanced XGP commercial service, gave a presentation about XGP technology and service application. Mr. Chika has protracted experience in TDD commercial service. Micro cell and AAS concept based on that are outstanding method that can react to the coming mass communication capacity era. His speech had a big impact upon us.

After Mr. Chika`s presentation, four resolutions were approved at the meeting. Especially, the importance of activity plan of introducing Advanced XGP service to the overseas was hammered to the members.

Addendum drawn up by PHSMou Group, formerly XGP Forum, was updated and approved by the members.

After all the resolutions were approved, the General Meeting was ended. Team build-up dinner was held then and industrial information and stories about Apple founder, Steve Jobs, who just passed away, the deployment of LTE, the development of telecommunication in the future were exchanged among the members.

Advanced XGP commercial service to start this season will harmonize with the world biggest system, China Mobile, and is expected to become a great system and service among the overseas Chinese economic circle mainly in Asia.
