 WILLCOM to Establish PHS Project for Medical Care

According to ITMedia, WILLCOM Inc. announced on May 21 to co-start PHS project for medical care with Wherever Medical Record Network, a none-government medical organization in June. The project will aim to the development of provide new service and new PHS terminals that are requested by users from medical and health institutions.

PHS is advantaged comparing to other mobile systems as it gives out low electromagnetic wave that it has little influence on using medical equipment that requests high precision. PHS system has been adopted in more than 4000 medical and health institutions in Japan by now. In order to further smoothen the information exchange among medical institutions and to provide further improved medical service, Wherever Medical Record Network decided to start this PHS project, which will be made up of medical workers and well-informed individuals in medical industry, to study and develop the need for new PHS terminals as well as services.

The new project, started with the effort of Wherever Medical Recording Network, is to be made up of medical workers and well-informed persons of medical industry, so that it is able to meet the target to study the real need of people who are to use the service.

Wherever Medical Record Network is an organization targeting at the smooth and swift information exchange among all medical institutions. The PHS project, which was established by the Network mainly, is targeting at the study of needed terminal by medical workers. It is said that result of the study will be written into report and submitted to a wide rang of medical institutions as proposal.
