Owing to the cooperation by Hanshin Electric Railway Co., Ltd, WILLCOM set up XGP base station in railway system and　managed to execute demonstration proof experiment of broadband along the railway from October to December in 2009.

The target of the experiment is mainly to verify data rate of uplink and handover in high speed movement, which is one of the key potential that XGP got.

Monitor system test with IP surveillance camera showed that uplink had always kept data rate over 5Mbps with stability, confirmed that a clear HDV file with a staff’s face transferred with fluency. Handover in high speed movement kept rate overr 2Mbps. It supposed to be a hint for a new application.

Yet, safety and working environment of railway system should be taken into account and ensured, so design and construction of the base station should be done jointly.

As written in the attached documents, the experiment result will make the negotiation with Railway Corporation more flexible. 

This kind of field trial will be conducted with the cooperation of various business partners to broaden XGP`s new possibilities.
