AAS Adaptive Array System
ANCH ANchor CHnnel
PRU assigned in FM-Mode, which is one of the MAC methods, according to the result of carrier sensing. ANCH is assigned fixedly to each user. It includes MAP displaying EXCH assigned data (only in DL), timing control bits (only in DL), transmitting output control bits and ACK bits to inform acceptance or rejection of arriving HARD data.
BS Base Station
Carrier Sensing
A process to judge if the PRU to be assigned on requirement is available. By carrying out carrier sensing, Autonomous Distributed Control is activated.
CSCH Circuit Switching CHannel
One of the MAC methods. PRU assigned in QS-Mode, which is one of the MAC methods. CSCH is assigned fixedly to each user. The name is given because PRU is always occupied, which is the situation similar to circuit switching method.
DCA Dynamic Channel Assign
A method that assign adaptive communication channel while avoiding interference to other users based on the execution of carrier sensing. By adopting DCA, the restriction to locate a cell station is removed and adding new cells in a needed area becomes easy.
EXCH EXtra CHannel
PRU assigned to all users as communication channel. It is possible to assign plural EXCHs to one user.
Although theoretically no carrier sensing is needed when EXCH is assigned, carrier sensing is carried out when unused PRU on certain cell station is repeatedly assigned as EXCH. MAP of ANCH informs the user on which PRU being assigned as EXCH. EXCH is dynamically assigned on each TDMA frame.
FM-Mode Fast access channel based on MAP –Mode
One of the MAC methods adopted in XGP. ANCH is assigned to respective users based on carrier sensing. EXCH needed for communication is assigned on each TDMA frame by MAP containing data from downloading ANCH.
MS Mobile Station
PRU
In regard with XGP, PRU is defined as the minimum communication unit at 900kHZ (on frequency axle) x 625 us (on time axle)
The minimum unit for communication is defined as PRU (Physical Resource Unit).
QCS-ID QoS Control Session Identifier
In regard with XGP, one or more than one QCS can be kept in one connection.
QCS-ID is used to manage QCS in one connection. Respective QCS is managed by different QoS.
