Result of Connection Test between IP-PBX and sXGP terminals in FY 2023

In order to provide more reliable sXGP equipment, XGP Forum (office located at ARIB. Chairperson: Hideyuki Iwata, CEO and S.V.P. of TTC) has revised "Guideline for Connection Test of sXGP System" and conducted a test to confirm whether the EPC, which is the core of the sXGP equipment, can continue to operate with the redundant configuration in case of failure. The connection test using multi-vendors` sXGP equipment was conducted as well. Both of them met with a good result.

 

XGP Forum has been standardizing a new TD-LTE-based wireless technology, license-free ”sXGP system”, as a radio station which uses 1.9GHz band and vigorously participating in the review meeting of technical requirements set up by Information and Communications Council(“ICC”) under MIC.

Then, in order to promote the deployment of this method, we informed of the following initiatives.

In response to ICC’s preliminary answer on March 31, 2017 and amendment enforcement of ministerial order for sXGP System on October 1, as well as the issuance of standard specification by ARIB, XGP Forum issued test guidelines. Based on the guideline, we have conducted tests continuously with participating companies in this Forum since FY 2018 and have achieved good results.

This time, we have also revised the implementation guidelines, adding the test item of re-call connection test after switching by redundant configuration of EPC in case of failure.

Based on the revised test guideline, the test was co-hosted by HATS Forum (Secretariat: Communications and Information Network Association of Japan (CIAJ), Chairman: Tadao SAITO, Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo) and met with a good result.


 Summary of test Result

1. Test period:

  XGP Forum(TWG-AdHoc 22 SWG for sXGP-AdHoc TG for interconnectivity) recruited participating companies and implemented the test.

5. Test Method

  Connection tests of all PBXes and sXGP method system were conducted in accordance with "IP-PBX - sXGP Inter-terminal Connection Test Guideline (Version 6)" and "PBX Telecom Server Inter Connection Test Guideline for sXGP Protocol Specification Terminal Connection (HATS-P-104-V6.0)" which is based on the former.

As described below, 1 item were tested with a combination of 2 models of IP-PBXes from 2 vendors and sXGP equipment. Both of them passed the test.

(2)Test results of multi-vendors` sXGP compatible equipment

Three items out of all test items that had been conducted since 2020 until last year and one item of re-call connection test after switching by redundant configuration of EPC in case of failure were tested as a combination of two models from two IP-PBX companies and one company that participated in the multi-vendor test as a new sXGP equipment (EPC, AP) vendor in FY2019.

7. Future Plan
XGP Forum will continue standardization work such as frequency expansion of sXGP system and will support the supply of products with high convenience for users, including checking connectivity with network equipment such as IP-PBX.
